We have started a Participatory Action Research process called “Weaving Community Networks for Diabetes” (TERECO-Creation). This project aims to co-create strategies to improve the management of type 2 diabetes by strengthening social support networks in the community.
On Friday, July 5th at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), we held the first integration and training workshop of the TERECO-Creación Motor Group. This group is composed of nine people of different genders, all members of the community and belonging to different social groups (Renovación Dorada, Reino de Quito and PUCE).
During the workshop, the Technical Team of the TERECO-Creation project gave a brief introduction to the co-creation project, addressing key aspects of diabetes and social support. In addition, the phases of the process were explained, the schedule of activities was agreed upon and the issues to be addressed during the development of the project were identified. Finally, a question and answer session on diabetes was opened.”
