Our researchers participated in the XLI Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology and XVIII Congress of the Portuguese Epidemiology Association, held in Porto from 5 to 8 September.

Elisa Chilet gave the pre-congress course on methods and tools for researching inequalities in health, without losing the gender perspective.

Marta Puig participated in the panel on Diabetes Mellitus presenting the paper “Factors associated with the control of type II diabetes in hard-to-reach rural communities: preliminary results of a cohort study in Esmeraldas, Ecuador”.

Ikram Benazizi made a double contribution, presenting the paper “Factors associated with quality of life in diabetic patients in Ecuador” and “Exploring the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on physical activity and diet in people with diabetes and/or hypertension in Ecuador in a context of social inequality”.

Sergio Morales’ paper presented the co-creation of physical activity and healthy eating in a low-income neighbourhood in Ecuador.
