After several months of work, the CEAD team of the Miguel Hernández University and the Institute of Public Health of the PUCE, has finished holding workshops for the community presentation of research results in the parishes of La Magdalena, Lucha de los Pobres Mena Dos, Solanda, Chilibulo, Chimbacalle, San Bartolo and Ferroviaria (Quito),

The main objective of these workshops is to disseminate the results of the population-based survey to the community as well as to decision-makers, health institutions and social organisations, in order to reflect on the social, cultural and economic factors that influence the prevalence of diabetes and risk factors in low-income settings and to adopt more efficient and effective public policies.

We also identified in a participatory way the strengths and weaknesses of the health assets of each parish.

We gathered all the concerns and contributions of the participants and reached commitments with all the participants and institutions that we hope will soon become a reality.
