During the last days of April, focus groups were held in three different communities in Esmeraldas: Borbón, Zapallo Grande and Colón Eloy, where a total of 24 people gathered to discuss the main results of the population survey.
The conversation revolved around obesity and eating habits such as low consumption of fruits and vegetables and high consumption of sugar and salt. In addition, possible actions at the local level that have a positive impact on access to healthy food were discussed.
The information obtained in the focus groups will help us to better understand the survey results and the contextual relevance and applicability of policy actions in these settings.
